Adelka Polak has performed at Stanford University, The Pittsburgh Glass Center, Carnegie Melon University, the garden outside of the Slaughterhouse Gallery, and many other theatres, galleries, and venues. Collaborations include sound artist Michael Pestel, video artist Zoe Woodworth, choreographer Gia Cacalano & puppeteer Vit Horejs.

Adelka also participated as a puppeteer for HIV education program in Hartford, CT through Concerned Citizens for Humanity. She performed inside of Grand Army Plaza Memorial Arch above the NYC Puppet Library for Rolande Duprey’s “Ting.” Adelka also collaborated with the Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre on the development and performance of “Once There Was a Village” which premiered at LaMama in 2007 after previews at the Lincoln Center Outdoors Festival 2006. “Anthropic Bathing” a 45-minute solo combines video, sound, movement & theories of quantum physics.

Before relocating to New England, she worked as choreographer, stage manager, puppeteer and performer for the Pittsburgh-based, avant-garde theatre group, Squonk Opera, touring across the U.S. while also venturing internationally as participants in the 2003 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the 2004 Uijeongbu Music Theatre Festival in South Korea.

Adelka now resides in Sherman, Connecticut.
